Lloyd and Simone Washington, a couple native to Jamaica, opened Herndon's only Jamaican restaurant in October 2005. The decor of the restaurant is very bright and colorful, and very casual. They serve many traditional Jamaican entrees such as jerk chicken, curried goat, oxtail, pepper shrimp and more. (See offical web site for complete menu.) The menu is posted on the wall behind the counter where you place your order, however not every menu item is available every day, and they might be featuring items not posted on the menu. The owner tells us that this typical of restaurants in Jamaica. So be sure to ask what is available on the day you visit, or call ahead of time if you are craving a particular menu item. They also sell many sauces and spices imported from Jamaica. The service is very friendly and the food is delicious. Be sure to try the gourmet ice cream, with flavors such as Mango, Passion Friut, Rum Raisin, Grapefruit and Guiness Stout.

I visited Jamaica Jamaica today for the first time and I have to say I was
looking forward to trying the "Authentic" Jamaican Cuisine and sadly that is NOT
what I found here. I ordered the Jerk Chicken...(I figured I'd start with a familiar
dish first since it was my first time there..)...well to make a long story
short....the chicken was not at all what I expected...it tasted just O-K but it was
like it was reheated from yesterday and it was dry, the beans and rice and veggies were oily and undercooked or also leftover from the day before....I will not be returning. They need competition so maybe they will pick up their game because they are no where near worthy of the good reviews previously entered.

The food is very good and very authentic but the service is horrible. One time we ate there and another we got it to go, and both times the service was bad. The lady seemed bothered that she had to help us! However, since the food is so good and it is the only Jamaican place in the area, we would go back just for that. However, I do encourage them to pep up and smile at their customers that bring them business.

It is not fancy but I bought the jerk chicken and it was great. Well seasoned chicken , good fresh tasting vegetables and delicious rice and peas. Great down to earth " yard" food and atmosphere. I will certainly make this a place to return to.

Great, authentic Jamaican food. Every thing is seasoned well, but not over-spicy, and absolutely delicious. Everyone I've brought here loves the food. Not a fancy joint by any means, but the food is more than worth it. "Irie Mon! It sweet me good, good!"

I just found this place and it is awesome! The food is authentic and tasty - even better than what I had in Jamaica! They have specials and the staff was happy to see a new face - I guess they have a lot of regulars. There is plent of seating upstairs if the downstairs is too full. Definately a jewel - check it out.

My Family memebers are natives of the West Indies, caribbean Island of Dominica, and personally I did not like the food here at all. Having tasted a lot of these foods in my life, I was not pleased after eating meals from here. I thought it was way to oily and seasoned well enough. However, I did enjoy the rum cake, beef patte's and the ice cream.
